LEE Sung-gang, director of the acclaimed My Beautiful Girl, Mari which won the Grand Prix at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2002, will open production on his second feature-length animated film in June.

Titled
Cheonnyeon-yeou, Yeoubi in Korean, the fantasy romance centers around the Asian mythical figure of the "nine-tailed fox", which is able to take the shape of a human. The film's hero is a ten-year old girl who experiences an adolescent romance.

To be co-produced by Yellow Film and Sunwoo Entertainment, the film will be shot in 2D with a 3D set in the background, in order to create a greater feeling of depth and volume. The film's estimated release date is August 2006.

Last year, the $3.5 million film was also selected to receive $800,000 (8 billion won) of funding from KOFIC, under its Production Support for Feature Animation program.

Recently, director LEE also completed his first live action feature
Texture of Skin, about a man who encounters the spirit of a woman who used to live in his home. Texture of Skin is sold internationally by Mirovision.
